This new 19,733-square-foot, seismic-rated facility will house a jail, sheriff’s office, and 911/dispatch center. The facility has a podular design and accommodates 38 general population beds and 5 special needs cells (each with a single bed), organized into 12 classification areas.
Key components of the facility include spaces for jail operations, administration, sheriff’s office functions, patrol, investigations, limited forensics, and civil departments. Additional support areas include interview rooms, evidence storage, records storage, a kitchen, and a secure sally port. Due to zoning and as required by the Department of Homeland Security, the facility will be constructed with a seismic-rated structure to ensure resilience during seismic events, enhancing the safety and security of both staff and inmates in the event of an earthquake or other natural disaster.
